In 1916, Jacques joined the School of Fine Arts and continued his studies until 1920. Starting out as a lithographer, he eventually worked as a poster designer. From 1921 to 1957, he created more than two thousand posters for the cinema. From 1958 to 1965, he became artistic director for a printing company, specializing in the creation of labels for dairy products.
